MANEABA NI MAUNGATABU LIBRARY

Maneaba ni Maungatabu library-maintained collections of physical materials such as books, newspapers journals for reference or loan. A key part of this library’s collection are the records of the parliament itself such as debates, committee proceedings and tabled reports which are also available in electronic copies. Some of our collections are from the pre-independent times or colonial times.

 

AVAILABLE SERVICES:

RESEARCH/INFORMATION SERVICES:

-Assist clients (Members of Parliamentary Staff) to get authoritative information accurately and in time. May assist external clients but under special circumstances, approval first.

-Assist clients to provide effective pathways in retrieving their information effectively and efficiently like creating indexes, bibliographies.

-Assist in finding alternative sources of information in case of unavailable information through Inter-library loan.

SPECIAL COLLECTION:

-Some collection on Kiribati publications and old records from colonial times.

PUBLICATION, PRESERVING AND ARCHIVING:

Another important service Maneaba ni Maungatabu Library do is preserving and archiving of old records of Kiribati Parliaments physical documents. These records from pre-independent times such as Legislature, Hansard, Journals, budgets etc.

SALES OF PUBLICATION:

Maneaba ni Maungatabu Library also kept Tabled Papers. Acquiring a copy of any specific Tabled report can be purchased with the price of $27.50

 

AUTOMATION/DIGITIZING

A new initiative (KOHA) MM Library is still in progress, it is in a MM Strategic Plan, so it is our priority to work on it.
